| CHEERS LADS! Sandhurst's super youngsters did a great job at the Crown Wood Kwik Cricket Festival. |
IT was a
moment to savour for the six Sandhurst players involved in the Crown Wood Kwik Cricket Festival (July 5th), as they put
in some outstanding performances.
The six players involved were: Tom Holden (aged 6), Nathan Menezes
(7), Sam Paget (8), Jake Staples (8), Josh Wilder (9) and James Rippon (10).
They lost their first match, against
a strong Bearwood side, though Josh Wilder snapped up a wicket with his first ball and two wickets were taken by Sam
Paget.
Sandhurst's youngsters convincingly won their second match, thanks to a splendid all-round display. James Rippon took his first-ever catch and Nathan Menezes ran out one of the opposition
with a brilliant direct hit.
It all came down to the last group game, against the hosts Crown Wood. The winners
would progress to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, Sandhurst came off second best, though it was mighty close, thanks to Jake
Staples taking four wickets in the final over!
Proud manager Adair Staples beamed:
"They all had a brilliant time, thoroughly enjoying themselves. In particular, they loved going up to get their medals
at the end, especially Tom Holden, who had never won a medal for anything before."

| Sandhurst Legends came off second best at Corfe, but they certainly looked a smart bunch! |

|
| For some people, glasses make them appear more intelligent - and then there's Martin Pharo! |

| Martin Bridges (left) and Dave Robinson were part of the Corfe invasion, which ended in defeat. |

|
| WHO'S A PRETTY BOY, THEN? Corfest '09 gave Dave Robinson the perfect excuse to get 'dressed up'. |

The 2009 collection ... by George!
AFTER what was a ruff 2008, Sandhurst's
new 2nd XI skipper, Simon Coxwell, has brought in canine cunning to give his side added bite for the coming
campaign.
Coxwell's pet dog, George, has had an official Sandhurst club sweater made for him,
which he will no doubt don with pride this season.
Suggestions that the 2nd XI had gone to the dogs were arguably
true for much of 2008. This year, though, dog-ged determination is the key to success, and it's rumoured that any players
falling below the expected standard will have George barking out orders from beyond the boundary.
George has been
a regular sight at the club, but will certainly feel part of the team with his cosy new costume and can take his rightful
place as official 2nd XI mascot!

| Sandhurst Colts enjoyed their time under the watchful eyes of Surrey County Cricket Club coaches. |
TWELVE Sandhurst Colts did the club proud
during a coaching day, held by Surrey County Cricket Club at Kings College, Camberley.
The event
was part of an ECB Level II coaching exam, with Surrey coaches putting youngsters through various aspects of the game as part
of their final assessment.
Sandhurst were represented by: Lewis Graham, Ryan Honey,
Connor Pharo, Callum Lindsey, Ben Cousins, Jarrod McTaggert, Jason Wiseman, Michael Barton, Aiden Buckingham, Edward Batchelor,
Connail Meade and Billy Rooney.
Without exception, every coach being assessed spoke glowingly
about our Colts, commenting on their great behaviour and attentive manner.
Such was the impact they made
that Colts co-ordinator, Ian Cousins, has been offered a number of friendly fixtures and days out
by the clubs associated with the Surrey coaches.
Ian beamed: "I am immensley proud of the squad, and
the enthusiasm they showed. Boys ... thank you!"
